Seaside Rock

Here’s a few more photos from my first lot of scans on the Epson V700. I’m really impressed with how good this cheap scanner is, these very nearly rival the quality from the Fuji Frontier. But, it takes quite a lot of time to get through the scans which is why I’ll only be using...

New Work New Scanner

I had a great afternoon last weekend photographing Christy. We went out to Raglan, the wind was roaring but managed to get some great shots. This is one of my favourites from the day. This is the first lot of photos I’ve run through my new Epson V700 film scanner and I’m loving the results!...

Nippon

While I’m back in New Zealand the other half of St Clair Photography is still in Tokyo for a few more weeks. Eiko has been shooting friends in and around Tokyo, I absolutely love this photograph. It’s nice to see a fresh perspective that differs from my own, where I would probably focus on the...

Attention to the details

This post is dedicated to the details from the last wedding I photographed. The details were amazing and helped to make their day that bit more special. I really enjoy hunting down and photographing all of the details and it’s a real challenge to find the best way to highlight each one. View all the...

finish with a bang

So here is the final post from this portrait session, to me these photos are the icing on the cake. The portraits in this post are some of my favourites. The first three were shot underneath a tree in the shade and the colours came out just as I saw them. I probably sound like...

Portrait Session | Maasa Asano | V

Wow, and the shots keep coming. I should probably end this series soon so this will be the second to last post. Another portrait session is coming up in a couple of weeks so look out for that towards the end of the month, in the meantime I’ll post up some more personal work. Hasselblad...

Portrait Session | Maasa Asano | IV

Another location from the same portrait session with Maasa Asano. I can’t get over how a lot of these came out and they far exceeded Maasa’s expectations, and even my own. I got an “OMGGGGGG” response when she first saw the scans. I love the fact that I didn’t have to spend much time at...

Portrait Session | Maasa Asano | III

So here is the third installment from this portrait session. These were all taken with my recently purchased Hasselblad 500 CM. I was super happy when I got the scans back and saw that everything was fine with the camera. Some of the photos are almost too sharp… I will post more photos later in...
