Thought I would kick off a little series of monochromatic Monday’s where I’ll post a black and white image at the start of every week. Here’s a cool black and white of the other half of St Clair Photography, enjoy. Hasselblad 500 CM, Zeiss Planar T* 80mm f/2.8, Ilford Delta 3200 film.

Summer in the middle of winter
I thought I would break up the wedding photography with a quick post from Tokyo. I shot this for Viviane three days before leaving Tokyo in Daikanyama. I love the feeling I get when looking at this photograph, it feels really warm although it was shot in the middle of winter. I’ll post some more...
Hasselblad 500 CM
So, a couple of weeks ago I finally got my own Hasselblad. I ended up getting a Hasselblad 500 CM in black, Zeiss 80mm Planar T* f/2.8, 120 and 220 film backs, and polaroid 100 back. So far it has been a lot of fun using it, and a lot different to the medium format...
Fujifilm natura 1600 rocks
Here’s some shots taken on Fuji Natura 1600 film. I shot this during the day and exposed it at ISO 400. The great thing about Fuji film is that it has really great latitude. I also used a neutral density filter so I could shoot wide open at f/1.1 some of the time. You can...
Portrait Session – Maasa
Today I had another amazing portrait session with Maasa. You may remember her from an earlier shoot I did with Grant from New Zealand. The films are being developed and scanned and I’ll get them back in a couple of weeks. Here are a few Hasselblad polaroids from today. Hasselblad 500cm, Zeiss Planar T* 80mm...
I wish the weather was still like this
I don’t know where to begin in describing this photo. It was one of those moments when a magical scene unfolded with the most amazing light. Snapping this shot I wasn’t too sure if I had nailed the focus or not. Shooting with medium format at f/2 is often a real challenge so when I...
The Dynamic Duo
We were messing around the other day to see what we could do with some cool shadows from the trees. We had fun trying to compose these shots as passers-by watched us like we were crazy. I love the intense looks in these portraits, quite different to our usual selves! Jason (left) Eiko (right). Contax...
More Daikanyama
A few more photos from my random walk through the side streets of fashionable Daikanyama. I’ve changed the format of the photo sizes so let me know if it bothers you. Contax 645, Zeiss Planar T* 80mm f/2, Fuji Pro 400H film.
Places like these
I’m going to really miss photographing around areas like this. These were taken in Daikanyama, Tokyo, Japan. This area is quite well known for it’s great cafe’s and shopping. It’s a higher class area so it was fun to roam the back streets and find some really interesting houses and stores. I’ll be posting more...
