shinjuku park

A few weeks ago a couple of friends and I spent an afternoon walking and photographing around Shinjuku park. I’d never been there before and it was an amazing location. I’d love to do a model shoot there, so many great areas and beautiful light. I seemed to notice a lot of couples and families there and subconsciously photographed them. I’ve enjoyed my time with film and medium format so much so that I will be picking up a new, well old, secret weapon soon. More details on that coming and one more post of park photos.

November 13, 2009 - 2:46 am Richie - Hey! Your photos are great yes they are. Cool that you do them analogue and then scan them in makes it way deeper and the colours are awesome. What I want to know is all grass in Japan as perfect and green as in the photo above or is this Photoshop at its best. Also do you retouch your photos or are these the raw examples?

November 13, 2009 - 8:14 am Jason - Herries! The colours are like this from my scanning preferences. But this is basically what the film is capturing and its common for "Fuji" colour. All my film stuff gets no retouching except taking out a few blemishes on skin, that's why I love film and will be shooting it almost exclusively from now on. When are you back in NZ?
